You probably will find out somebody asks you about location of a place, for example:

where is McDonalds? = 麥當勞在哪裡? (maidanglao zai nali? | ㄇㄞˋ ㄉㄤ ㄌㄠˊ ㄗㄞˋ ㄋㄚˇ ㄌㄧˇ?)

McDonalds = 麥當勞 (maidanglao | ㄇㄞˋ ㄉㄤ ㄌㄠˊ)

KFC = 肯德基 (kendeji | ㄎㄣˇ ㄉㄜˊ ㄐㄧ)

Family Mart = 全家 (quan jia | ㄑㄩㄢˊ ㄐㄧㄚ)

and you may want to answer with:

next to ___ = ___ 的旁邊 (___ de pangbian | ___ ㄉㄜ ㄆㄤˊ ㄅㄧㄢ)

left side of ___ = ___ 的左邊 (___ de zuobian | ___ ㄉㄜ ㄗㄨㄛˇ ㄅㄧㄢ)
