Lesson7: Thank You, Sorry, and Excuse Me

You may find once you will be in a situation where you need to ask strangers, say, you got lost in your way to train station. So, the magic word to ask is:

excuse me = 不好意思 (bu hao yi si | ㄅㄨˋ ㄏㄠˇ 一ˋ ㄙ)

Then you can ask about what, which, why, who, when, and how (refer to Lesson5: 5w1H). In the end after you have asked, show some gratitude by saying thank you.

thank you = 謝謝 (xie xie | ㄒㄧㄝˋ ㄒㄧㄝˋ)

They way to say sorry is:

sorry = 對不起 (dui bu qi | ㄉㄨㄟˋ ㄅㄨˋ ㄑㄧˇ)

RESPONSE
You may hear the response to sorry = 對不起 (dui bu qi | ㄉㄨㄟˋ ㄅㄨˋ ㄑㄧˇ) :

never mind = 沒關係 (mei guan xi | ㄇㄟˊ ㄍㄨㄢ ㄒㄧˋ)

And the response to thank you = 謝謝 (xie xie | ㄒㄧㄝˋ ㄒㄧㄝˋ)

you're welcome = 不客氣 (bu ke qi | ㄅㄨˊ ㄎㄜˋ ㄑㄧˋ)

Note. Always make yourself accustomed to these three words (thank you, sorry, and excuse me) as it will be considered polite in communicating.
