Lesson3: Number

0 = 零 (ling | ㄌㄧㄥˊ)
1 = 一 (yi | 一)
2 = 二 (er | ㄦˋ) OR 兩 (liang | ㄌㄧㄤˇ)
3 = 三 (san | ㄙㄢ)
4 = 四 (si | ㄙˋ)
5 = 五 (wu | ㄨˇ)
6 = 六 (liu | ㄌㄧㄨˋ)
7 = 七 (qi | ㄑㄧ)
8 = 八 (ba | ㄅㄚ)
9 = 九 (jiu | ㄐㄧㄡˇ)
10 = 十 (shi | ㄕˊ)
Note. 2 = 兩 (liang | ㄌㄧㄤˇ) is used in classification. For example: two books, two pens, two years, etc.

*The rest is simply combination of the number above.
11 = 十一 (shi yi | ㄕˊ 一)
12 = 十二 (shi er | ㄕˊ ㄦˋ)
Note. 11 is 10 = 十 (shi | ㄕˊ) and 1 = 一 (yi | 一), it becomes 11 = 十一 (shi yi | ㄕˊ 一).

hundreds = 百 (bai | ㄅㄞˇ) 100 = 一百 (yi bai | 一 ㄅㄞˇ)
thousands = 千 (qian | ㄑㄧㄢ) 1,000 = 一千 (yi qian | 一 ㄑㄧㄢ)

*You may wonder how to say 100,000 , 1,000,000 , and 10,000,000. Note that the separator for number more than 10,000 is ten thousands = 萬 (wan | ㄨㄢˋ). So that:

Whatever is the number in front the last 4 digits will be followed by ten thousand = 萬 (wan | ㄨㄢˋ)
