This one is confusing, really confusing. Steak, as a general term, is called 牛排 (niu pai | ㄋㄧㄡˊ ㄆㄞˊ). On the other hand, 牛排 (niu pai | ㄋㄧㄡˊ ㄆㄞˊ) is also mean Beefsteak.
Let's say, you and your friend is thinking about what to eat for lunch. As you are walking, you see a steak house. You will see the word steak is written as 牛排 (niu pai | ㄋㄧㄡˊ ㄆㄞˊ). Then you say that you want to eat steak.
I want to eat steak = 我要吃牛排 (wo yao chi niupai | ㄨㄛˇ 一ㄠˋ ㄔ ㄋㄧㄡˊ ㄆㄞˊ)
If your meaning is to eat beefsteak.
I want to eat beefsteak = 我要吃牛排 (wo yao chi niupai | ㄨㄛˇ 一ㄠˋ ㄔ ㄋㄧㄡˊ ㄆㄞˊ)
They are the same in the Chinese language!
Pork steak = 豬排 (zhu pai | ㄓㄨ ㄆㄞˊ)
Fish steak = 魚排 (yu pai | ㄩˊ ㄆㄞˊ)
Chicken steak = 雞排 (ji pai | ㄐㄧ ㄆㄞˊ)
And finally, tell your friend to go there.
Let's go there = 去那兒吧 (qu nar ba | ㄑㄩˋ ㄇㄚˋ ㄦ ㄅㄚ)
